QUESTION: You had mentioned in the Part-2 video that you were going to talk about re-sizing the images, yet I can’t seem to find where in the videos you do that. Did I miss something? When we export out of PTGui, they are very large Tiff files, but here in Panotour you are importing jpegs. Where did you resize them, how did you resize, them, and to what size? How were they compressed? Thanks again and your videos are incredibly helpful.

Hey Jared – the workflow I used when my primary machine was a laptop was to downsize the individual images to 2500px on the long sizes upon export from Lightroom. Then I maintain a 16 bit workflow in PTGUI and export the 360 pano as a TIFF, then I do cleanup and final exposure and color corrections in Photoshop, and at that point, save as a JPG. The final pano size depends on your usage and computer’s capabilities, but I used to export the final jpg to 5000px on the long size. At this point, I have a new computer and I keep all of my images at their full resolution throughout my workflow.

Do you need to resize before loading the images to a server for your clients? Do the larger images slow down the virtual tour, or do you give them full size images, just compressed to jpeg? Thanks so much for all your help. It’s my first time and I’m doing a high-profile virtual tour for a 5-Star Hotel haha. I shoulda picked an easier client for my first time haha

The virtual tour software should automatically resize the pano to the appropriate screen size. So if you’re using a gigapixel pano, but you’re using your phone to look at it, the original will be downsized. PanoTour Pro will output a bunch of different resolutions and it won’t slow down your server. I’d say use the highest resolution you’ve got.

    Hey there Patrick!

Thanks for great tutorials! I am looking for info how to include several Image galleries on one panorama, but I have big problems finding that. Any tips where to look?
